String preferences are unique to every ukulele player. But most casual strummers agree that Aquila Nylagut strings are the ones to beat. Easy on the fingers, the ears, and the wallet, they are a vast improvement over the cheaper strings you’ll find on most pre-strung ukes ~ and will make even a $39 dollar ukulele sound better. These strings also hold up very nicely for the $8 investment.
Another favorite among players are the D’Addario Nyltech strings. Depending on your ukulele size, they run about $6 per pack and are easy to find both online and in music shops.
Additional recommendations include La Bella and Martin strings. Though not quite the quality of Aquila and D’Addario, they will do in a pinch.
